The Odyssey Clinic at the UAMS Psychiatric Research Institute is Arkansas’s only specialized outpatient program dedicated to individuals aged 16 and older experiencing their first episode of psychosis, offering comprehensive, coordinated care within two years of symptom onset. Our multidisciplinary team provides personalized treatment plans, education, and support to patients and families, emphasizing early intervention to improve outcomes. Partnering with advocates like Kody Green, we aim to reduce stigma, raise awareness, and empower our community with evidence-based mental health solutions.

The Odyssey Clinic staff consists of tenured doctors, licensed social workers and counselors, a veteran nursing staff, and talented medical students, all of whom play a role in the clinic’s mission to support and care for individuals facing challenges with mental health.

The team at The Odyssey Clinic at UAMS works with people 16 years of age and older who have experienced the symptoms of first episode psychosis. Some of those symptoms may include: delusions, hearing, seeing or feeling things that others do not, speaking in a manner others cannot understand, and a sense of being watched or followed. The clinic offers services including counseling, education and employment support, education for families, careful utilization of medicines, and assistance in connecting with physicians who treat substance abuse treatment, if needed.
